Miles W. Cottom is an associate at Alpern Myers Stuart LLC managing a variety of cases including real estate, land use, property, landlord/tenant, and general civil litigation. Miles works to ensure that each case is handled on an individual basis according to the client’s needs, and relies on effective communication to develop a plan unique to each issue.

Miles is an active member of the Colorado Springs community. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Pikes Peak Justice and Pro Bono Center, the charitable arm of the El Paso County Bar Association. Miles is currently serving his second term as co-chair of the El Paso County Bar Association’s New Lawyers’ Division, helping to organize networking events and legal education programs for the region’s up-and-coming attorneys.

In addition to volunteering for the legal community, Miles serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance, an organization of local businesses and nonprofits working to establish the Pikes Peak region as one of the premier destinations for outdoor recreation and the outdoor recreation industry.

Miles obtained his undergraduate degree in History with a minor in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Following law school, Miles moved to Colorado to pursue his skiing habit. When he is not working or on the slopes, you can find Miles exploring the mountains, rivers, and trails of Colorado with his dog, Scout.
