Meet Ken Myers
Ken was born in South Dakota, and he has resided in Colorado Springs since 1961, with time away to attend law school at DU. He has been active for many years as a singing member, and a board member and officer, of the Colorado Springs Chorale.
His wife, Janet, recently retired as an instructor of history at UCCS. After her retirement she was honored as an Instructor Emerita by the UCCS College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences.
Ken and Jan have two sons, David and James. David, an electrical engineer, lives in Colorado Springs and is a Senior Systems Engineer at Kratos Defense and Security Solutions. His wife Nikki recently retired as principal of the Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning in Colorado Springs, and she continues to act as a strategic advisor to AACL; she is a frequent participant in national education programs for gifted students; and she is a lecturer at UCCS and a graduate student in the UCCS education PhD program. Nikki was recently named as a finalist for the Charter School Hall of Fame.
James and his wife Jackie live in Wellington, New Zealand, where they work as web site designers for agencies of the New Zealand government. Jackie competes frequently as a costume creator in the international World of Wearable Art programs, and they are both active in the Wellington creative arts community.
